This program took place in Fall 2018 at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro. Ms. Alixandra Lomas was our guest educational speaker on the hydrosphere lesson. Her talk and my teaching resources can be found at Bit.ly/LeGoogle. Special Thanks to Cabrillo Marine Aquarium and Alix for supporting this program! Thanks to the incredible teachers for such a fun experience together! Below are testimonials from teacher participants. "The different hands-on activities (from observing the different species inside the classroom to exploring the San Pedro marsh to water filtration lab were very helpful in planning my classroom curriculum. These activities will enhance the students' learning." - Los Angeles USD Middle School Science Teacher "I think I gained a deeper understanding of the anchoring question today. Also, I saw how I can integrate more of my environmental science curriculum into my chemistry curriculum when talking about climate science and ocean acidification. I also enjoyed the lab." - Azuza USD Science Teacher "The execution of the labs was very effective in designing my classroom curriculum. Students will be able to investigate phenomena and get a deeper understanding of the material." Los Angeles USD Science Teacher "The salt march visit was the most effective part in helping me learn about climate change. The water looked so polluted that it made me think if students can see for themselves the effect of their decisions on the environment, they would take the subject matter to heart."
